  11.      Installation Procedures:
  12.  
  13.      0. Before you install, if you have not already done so, you will
  14.         need to unZIP the contents of the ZIP file if you downloaded the
  15.         driver from our BBS.  If you ordered the disk version you can
  16.         skip this step.  We suggest using C:\TEMP for the temporary
  17.         unZIP directory which can be deleted after installation.  Unless
  18.         you have an OS/2 version of PKUNZIP, you will need to open a
  19.         DOS-Compatible session to do this step.  If you have not already
  20.         installed OS/2 2.0 as set up for standard VGA, then you must do
  21.         that before doing anything in this READ.ME file, and boot your
  22.         machine under OS/2 2.0.

  24.      1. Make a directory on your OS/2 drive called STBOS2 and change to
  25.         that directory.
  26.  
  27.         Example:
  28.           C:
  29.           MD \STBOS2
  30.           CD \STBOS2
  31.  
  32.      2. Copy the drivers from the ZIP file or disk to that directory.
  33.  
  34.         Example 1: (for unZIPed version, if unzipped to C:\TEMP)
  35.           COPY C:\TEMP\*.* \STBOS2
  36.  
  37.         Example 2: (for disk version)
  38.           COPY A:\*.* C:\STBOS2
  39.  
  40.      3. Choose one of the following files to install:
  41.           PGRAPH4.DLL =  640x480x16 colors
  42.           PGRAPH6.DLL =  800x600x16 colors
  43.           PGRAPH7.DLL = 1024x768x16 colors
  44.  
  45.      4. Copy the driver of your choice to a new file (so that there will
  46.         then be two copies of different names) called DISPLAY.DLL.

  48.         Example:
  49.           COPY PGRAPH7.DLL DISPLAY.DLL

  72.      5. Using the OS/2 text editor of your choice (E.EXE is supplied
  73.         with OS/2 2.0) modify the CONFIG.SYS file to add our new STBOS2
  74.         directory to the LIBPATH statement.

  76.         Example:
  77.           E CONFIG.SYS

  79.           Then in editor, full-screen, move arrows to the LIBPATH line,
  80.           which should look similar to (may not be exact):
  81.           LIBPATH=C:\OS2\DLL;C:\OS2\MDOS;C:\;C:\OS2\APPS\DLL;

  83.           This should be modified to read something like:
  84.           LIBPATH=C:\STBOS2;C:\OS2\DLL;C:\OS2\MDOS;C:\;C:\OS2\APPS\DLL;
  85.  
  86.           In other words, insert "C:\STBOS2;" at the first part of the
  87.           LIBPATH statement.
  88.  
  89.           Once you've made the changes, don't forget to save the file.
  90.  
  91.      6. Shut down your OS/2 and reboot.  The new driver will now take
  92.         effect.  To change resolutions, copy the driver of your choice
  93.         over the DISPLAY.DLL in the STBOS2 directory.
  94.  
  95.      COMPATIBILITY NOTES:
  96.  
  97.      OS/2 2.0 does not currently work in HIGH-REFRESH modes.  This
  98.      means that if your PowerGraph or ERGO card has a jumper for
  99.      "72-Hz" or "ERGO" then you need to set that jumper for the
  100.      "60-Hz" or "Standard" mode so that it will conform to standard
  101.      VGA refresh rates.  Consult your manual and/or addendums for more
  102.      information concerning this jumper.  At this time there is no way
  103.      to take full advantage of your ERGO card and monitor under OS/2.
